- Habitat Typesearch for term
- A habitat type is the basis of a forest ecosystem classification system. It is an aggregation of all land areas potentially capable of producing similar plant communities at climax. Habitat types are usually named for the most shade-tolerant tree species that will grow on the site and an understory plant that is represented with a high degree of constancy.
