Summary:

WestLand Resources, Inc. (WestLand) surveyed for yellow-billed cuckoo (YBCU, Coccyzus americanus) during the summer of 2013 in the vicinity of the planned Rosemont Copper Mine (the Project) in support of the Coronado National Forest (CNF) review of the Project. This survey also fulfills, in part, the monitoring requirements for YBCU included in FS-BR-14 established by the CNF in the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Project. The Project is located in the northern Santa Rita Mountains, Pima County, Arizona, and includes private lands as well as lands managed by the CNF (Figure 1). The purpose of this survey was to determine the presence and, if present, distribution of YBCU in vicinity of the Project.
