In 2009, EPG archaeologists conducted a survey of the proposed transmission line corridor, which encompassed the Helvetia Cemetery. At the request of the Arizona State Museum (ASM), EPG did not then document the cemetery because it is still visited and maintained by the families of those buried there. However, after subsequent disturbance to the cemetery in the form of “grave dowsing”, the ASM requested that EPG record the cemetery under ASM Accession Number 2009-830. EPG also completed a Historic Property Inventory Form for Cemeteries and Graves, which will be filed at the Arizona State Historic Preservation Office as part of the Inventory of Arizona Historic Cemeteries.
